The ''Watertown Daily Times'' is a daily newspaper published in Watertown, New York. It provides coverage of Jefferson County, Lewis County, and St. Lawrence County. It was founded in 1861, and is owned by the Johnson family of Watertown. The Times covers its geographically expansive coverage area through a network of bureaus and shared resources with its sister newspapers. In addition to Watertown, the newspaper has news-gathering operations in Lowville, Carthage, Canton, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Massena and Malone. The Times produces a number of publications, including NNY Business, a monthly magazine, and Carthage-Lowville Times, a zoned weekly news section. The Times is the flagship of the Johnson Newspaper Corporation, which owns daily newspapers across upstate New York. In addition to the Times, it owns The Ogdensburg Journal, Daily Courier-Observer of Massena/Potsdam, The Malone Telegram, The Daily News of Batavia, The Register-Star of Hudson, and The Daily Mail of Catskill. It owns multiple weeklies, as well, including the Livingston County News of Geneseo, St. Lawrence Plaindealer of Canton, Carthage Republican-Tribune, and The Journal and Republican of Lowville. The Times also spawned the WWNY radio and television stations.
